Fridays to Remain Funky, Thanks to RadiFi Credit Union

JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– RadiFi Credit Union is now the presenting sponsor of Funky Fridays, a new monthly community event series hosted by the Five Points Association in the historic Five Points neighborhood in the urban core of Jacksonville.

The monthly event series launched Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, and will continue through May 2026.

“This sponsorship underscores RadiFi’s commitment to community-based marketing and highlights the credit union’s mission of building stronger connections beyond traditional financial services,” the credit union said in a statement.

According to the $652-million RCU, Funky Fridays is designed to increase foot traffic, energize small businesses and invite residents to enjoy live music, games, themed entertainment and local merchant activations throughout “Jacksonville’s eclectic Five Points neighborhood.”

“The program takes an ‘eight to eighty’ approach—offering something for children, seniors and everyone in between,” RadiFi CU said. “By sponsoring and co-promoting events like Funky Fridays, RadiFi is investing in a marketing model rooted in shared experiences, social vibrancy and community well-being. Unlike traditional advertising, these in-person engagements allow the credit union to strengthen its brand identity by showing up where its members live, shop and gather.”

‘Meet People Where They Are’
“Community events like Funky Fridays provide an opportunity for us to meet people where they are—in the places they shop, dine and spend time with their families,” Chief Marketing Officer Tara McQuillen said in a statement. “For RadiFi, this partnership isn’t just about visibility; it’s about building brand recognition through creating memorable experiences that strengthen relationships with our members and neighbors.”

The September launch featured live DJ sets and performances at Waffle Cone and Holy Smoke Barbeque sidewalk karaoke and pop-up entertainment scattered throughout the district. More than 1,800 visitors attended the event from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and enjoyed food, drinks and shopping at neighborhood merchants while experiencing the unique energy of the Five Points neighborhood, the credit union added.

‘Live More Vibrantly’
“At RadiFi, we are celebrating our 90th anniversary serving the community of Northeast Florida as an organization dedicated to helping people live more vibrantly,” President and CEO John Servos said in a statement. “Sponsoring events like these is not just a great opportunity to connect with the community we serve, but it is an investment in making it a better place to live, play and work.”
