TAMPA, Fla.–GTE Financial Credit Union said it is preparing to launch a new “Heritage” credit card in May.
“With a design inspired by the rich history of Tampa, this credit card celebrates the credit union’s 90-year legacy of serving its members and the local community,” GTE Financial said.

The card design pays tribute to Tampa’s history, reflecting “the vintage charm of the city’s historic landmarks to the modern skyline,” the $2.9-billion CU said.
Points Offered
The credit union said cardholders can earn points on every purchase, up to four times the points on travel and dining, redeemable for cash back, travel, gift cards and more.
“We’re thrilled to unveil the Heritage Credit Card as part of our ongoing 90th anniversary celebration,” EVP/COO/CLO Dona Svehla said in a statement. “This card not only honors our local roots but also highlights the tremendous change and growth of our credit union and community. We’ve designed it to provide incredible value with one of the best rewards programs in the market, at a price point that makes the card highly accessible and affordable.”
In addition to the benefits outlined above, members can receive 10,000 bonus points when they spend $3,000 within the first three months of account opening.
Fee Waived for First Year
“The card also comes with a low annual fee of just $55, much lower than many top-tier rewards cards, as well as an APR of only 17.49%, significantly more competitive than financial institutions with APRs as high as 35%,” GTE Financial said.
