PANAMA CITY, Fla.–While most financial institutions took the day off for President’s Day, Hello Credit Unions reporting its staff engaged in volunteer service, including outhreach focused on environmental conservation, elder care, and critical assistance for families in need.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Hello Credit Union employees who volunteered alongside the American Red Cross in Panama City today. Their dedication to service directly supports the Red Cross mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering. Because of their efforts, Bay County is now better protected against home fires,” Andy Cornett, Community Disaster Program Manager for the American Red Cross of Northwest Florida, said in a statement.

Volunteer Activities
According to Hello CU, the activities included:
- Arc of the Bay – Team members installed a memorial rock garden to create a beautiful space to remember those lost.
- American Red Cross – Volunteers installed smoke detectors for low-income families.
- Beach Care Services – Staff assisted with intake for clients in need of financial assistance.
- Brookdale Memory Care Community – Employees spent time engaging with residents through games, activities, and a special lunch, including fitness exercises, trivia, and memory games.
- St. Andrews State Park – Volunteers participated in a beach clean-up effort to help maintain the beauty of the local shoreline.
- Helping Hands of Blountstown – Staff volunteered at a local store to assist with installing new technology / equipment.
