JDCU Employee Terminated After TikTok Video Goes Viral, Sparks Widespread Criticism

LOWELL, Mass. — Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union has terminated an assistant vice president after a TikTok video in which she appeared to mock and wish harm on former U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi sparked widespread criticism online.

According to reporting by multiple media outlets, Caitlyn Aguiar, who served as assistant vice president for the inbound contact center at the Lowell-based credit union, posted a video under the TikTok account @glitterandcrossbones in which she offered a mock prayer related to Bondi’s recent thyroid cancer diagnosis. The account has since been made private.

The video circulated widely on social media after being reposted by several accounts, prompting calls for Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union to respond.

According to the New York Post, Aguiar referenced a “MAGA Lord Jesus” and expressed hope that Bondi would suffer severe complications from her illness, comments that generated significant backlash online.

CU Issues Statement

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union confirmed the employee’s departure in a public statement.

“Yesterday, we became aware of offensive comments posted on TikTok by an individual who was employed by Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union at the time of the post,” the credit union said in a statement cited by the New York Post. “This conduct is inconsistent with Jeanne D’Arc’s policies, Code of Ethics, and core values.”

The credit union added that it does not support or condone behavior that violates its policies and values and confirmed that the employee “is no longer employed by Jeanne D’Arc.”

‘Inappropriate Comments’

According to The Washington Times, Aguiar was fired after the video became public and generated criticism from social media users who argued the comments were inappropriate for someone employed in a customer-facing leadership position.

The New York Post reported that Aguiar had worked at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union since January 2024. Following the controversy, her LinkedIn profile and other social media accounts appeared to have been removed or deactivated.

The incident drew attention beyond the credit union industry because it involved Bondi, a prominent political figure who recently disclosed she is undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer. Media reports said the video prompted sharp reactions from both supporters and critics of Bondi, with many condemning the remarks regardless of political affiliation.
