LendingClub Bank Rebranding as Happen Bank

SAN FRANCISCO—LendingClub said it will rebrand its subsidiary, LendingClub Bank, as Happen Bank, a move the company said reflects its evolution into a digital-first bank offering a broader suite of products.

The new brand is expected to roll out this summer across the company’s website, mobile app, marketing materials and customer communications, LendingClub said.

“The LendingClub name no longer fits with everything we offer today. The Happen Bank brand reflects both our expanded banking capabilities and our core mission: to clear the way for people going places,” CEO Scott Sanborn said in a statement.

The company said the rebranding follows a multi-year transition from its origins as an online lending platform to a diversified digital bank that integrates lending and deposit products into a single customer experience.

‘Faster & Simpler’

According to LendingClub, the Happen Bank brand is designed to appeal to consumers seeking faster, simpler and more transparent banking services. The bank will continue to offer lending and deposit products, with features that include rapid credit decisions, clear terms and digital-first account access.

“Our members don’t want banking to slow them down,” said Mark Elliot, the company’s chief customer officer. “The Happen Bank brand reflects how we show up for them—clear, human and action-oriented.”

The company said there will be no changes to its existing products, services or overall strategy as a result of the rebranding. Customers will continue to access accounts through current platforms during the transition.

‘Action & Progress’

LendingClub said the new name is intended to convey “action, progress and forward momentum,” aligning with its focus on helping customers manage debt, reduce borrowing costs and build savings.

“This isn’t just a name change—it’s a recognition of who we’ve become,” Sanborn said. “Happen Bank reflects our commitment to helping members turn intention into action and achieve meaningful financial progress.”
