HOLLYWOOD, Calif.–Chuck Bruen, the-long time CEO of First Entertainment Credit Union, has passed away.

Mr. Bruen led the credit union, which serves California’s entertainment industry, from 1987-2016, when he retired after overseeing growth to more than $1.5 billion in assets from $50 million. He joined the First Entertainment board after his retirement.
“Chuck exemplified a true credit union leader, always focused on finding ways to help every member. This culture of member service still rings true to this day,” FECU said.
Headquarters Named for CEO
First Entertainment dedicated its Hollywood headquarters to Mr. Bruen after he retired following a 50-year career in financial services. In 2015, Mr. Bruen received the Leo H. Shapiro Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honor bestowed by the California Credit Union League, in recognition of his strong advocacy of the credit union movement.
