ALEXANDRIA, Va.– An updated board meeting schedule for the National Credit Union Administration indicates both the Oct. 23 and Nov. 20 meetings have been “withdrawn,” meaning they will not be held.

With the exception of August every year, the NCUA board has traditionally met once each month in a public forum. But that schedule has become far less regular since the Trump administration fired Democratic board members Todd Harper and Tanya Otsuka in April of this year, leaving Republican and Chairman Kyle Hauptman as the only remaining member of the board.
Hauptman had said during the September meeting that there would not be an October meeting.
December is ‘Tentative’
On its website, NCUA indicates that the Dec. 18 board meeting is “tentative.”
Harper and Otsuka currently have a lawsuit before the courts challenging the firings, saying the move violates the Federal Credit Union Act. They are seeking to be reinstated.
