NEW YORK — Citigroup has raised its forecast for the global artificial intelligence market, citing accelerating enterprise adoption, Reuters reported Tuesday.
The bank now expects the worldwide AI market to exceed $4.2 trillion by 2030, according to a Citi research note cited by Reuters. That marks an increase from its earlier projection of $3.5 trillion.

Nearly half of the total — about $1.9 trillion — is expected to come from enterprise AI, up from a prior estimate of roughly $1.2 trillion, Reuters reported.
The research note highlighted Anthropic as a key player in the enterprise segment, with demand and revenue driven by its Claude models and Claude Code offerings. Citi said Anthropic’s Mythos platform represents potential longer-term benefits rather than a near-term revenue driver.
Strategic Shift
According to Reuters, about 80% of Anthropic’s revenue comes from enterprise clients, reflecting a strategic shift away from consumer-focused AI. The company’s annualized revenue run rate surpassed $30 billion as of April, one of the fastest growth trajectories in the technology sector, the report said.
Anthropic has also secured significant computing capacity agreements, including deals worth up to $40 billion with Google and as much as $25 billion with Amazon, Reuters reported, though it faces growing competition from companies such as OpenAI and Google.
