MONMOUTH, Ore. –Oregon State Credit Union has donated $50,000 over five years to support Western Oregon University’s new Student Success Center, with naming rights reserved for the First-Generation Center.

“Oregon State Credit Union is proud to support the First-Generation Center within the new Student Success Center, which plays a crucial role in fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for first-generation college students,” Branch Manager Jordan Carpenter said in a statement. “This initiative aligns with our commitment to empowering students and strengthening our community.”

The First-Generation Center aims to provide essential resources for students who are the first in their families to attend college, according to the credit union, and will “serve as a hub for academic and social support, allowing first-generation students to connect with peers and access robust assistance throughout their time at Western.”

Oregon State Credit Union noted it also annually contributes a scholarship for students with financial need and Wolves Athletics.
