Redstone FCU Issues Statement Following Alleged Card Fraud

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.— Redstone Federal Credit Union released a statement following recent fraudulent Walmart charges on members’ accounts.

The credit union said  it and Walmart.com were made aware of members having “fraudulent Walmart.com charges pending on their accounts,” and further said it is taking action to reverse any charges members believe to be fraudulent.

In its statement, Redstone said it is asking members to wait to dispute the pending transactions until it has fully posted to an account. Once it posts, Redstone said it will work to refund those members properly.

It is further recommending that any members with fraudulent charges close their cards and request a new one through online banking, calling the credit union or visiting a branch.

The credit union did not offer any information on how the potentially fraudulent transactions took place of how member data may be been obtained.
