Redstone FCU Plans to Award Up to $750,000 in Grants Through its 2026 Community Impact Grant Program

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Redstone Federal Credit Union said it will begin accepting applications July 1 for its 2026 Community Impact Grant program, which will provide up to $750,000 to nonprofit organizations serving communities across the Tennessee Valley, the credit union announced.

According to Redstone Federal Credit Union, this year’s program marks the largest community grant investment in the credit union’s history as it celebrates its 75th anniversary. The program will award grants of $50,000 or more to nonprofits working in areas including financial education, workforce development, economic opportunity and other initiatives designed to strengthen local communities.

The credit union said the funding is intended to help nonprofit organizations expand services, address critical community needs and create long-term opportunities for financial stability and economic growth.

Committed to Improving Well-Being

“Redstone is committed to improving the financial well-being of our members and communities,” Joe Newberry said in a statement. “Strong communities are built through meaningful partnerships, and we believe investing in organizations doing transformative work creates opportunities that can positively impact lives for generations.”

According to the credit union, the Community Impact Grant program debuted in 2025, when it awarded a total of $230,000 to three nonprofit organizations:

  • Creative Cities Fund for its Raise Your Hand Initiative.
  • Aum Foundation USA Inc. for its Aum Campus Housing Initiative.
  • Hustle Recovery Inc. to expand recovery and workforce development initiatives in Middle Tennessee.

Newberry said the inaugural recipients demonstrated how community partnerships can help address economic and social challenges by expanding housing opportunities, workforce development and recovery services.

“When nonprofits are equipped with resources and support, they can transform lives in extraordinary ways,” he said in the statement. “From expanding housing opportunities to workforce development and recovery services, these organizations are meeting people where they are and helping create pathways toward stability, dignity and hope.”

When to Apply

Applications for the 2026 grant program will be accepted from July 1 through Aug. 1. According to Redstone, applications will be reviewed by a committee before recommendations are presented to the board in September. Final board approval is expected between September and November, with grant recipients to be announced by mid-December.

The program is open to nonprofit organizations serving Jackson County, Limestone County, Madison County, Marshall County and Morgan County, as well as Lincoln County and Rutherford County.

According to Redstone Federal Credit Union, the credit union has more than $8.6 billion in assets and is the largest member-owned financial institution in Alabama and among the nation’s largest federal credit unions by assets.
