Space Coast CU Moving West into the Mickey Market

MELBOURNE, Fla.–Space Coast Credit Union is expanding east into the Orlando market with plans for two new branches in Waterford Lakes and Avalon Park.

The $9-billion SCCU said approximately 19,000 of its nearly 685,000 total members live in the Orlando area.

“At Space Coast Credit Union, we always look for opportunities to expand our branch network where it benefits our membership. That is always our first priority,” Chief Strategy & Growth Officer Gary Prager said in a statement. “We will bring our trusted services and personalized financial solutions closer to our Orlando members, and welcome new members to our credit union as their financial watchdog. This expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to meeting our members where they are—both digitally and in the communities they call home.”

Set to Open Later This Year

The first of the two locations, situated in Waterford Lakes, is scheduled to open its doors in fall 2025. A grand opening celebration will follow later in the year. The second location in Avalon Park will also open. The new facilities will employ around 10 workers, the credit union said.

“This is the start of a continued effort by SCCU to expand in Orlando with more branches planned in the future, signaling strong confidence in the Central Florida market,” Space Coast CU said.
