Two More CUs Announce Partnerships With University Athletic Facilities

BINGHAMPTON, N.Y.–Two credit unions have announced partnerships with athletic facilities at universities.

In New York, the $5.2-billion Visions FCU has made a “significant investment” to support the $5.6-million overhaul of the track-and-field facility near the East Gym at Binghamton University. The size of the investment was not disclosed.

The university said the space will be called the Visions Federal Credit Union Track & Field Facility.

According to the university, the improvements to the 30-year-old facility focus on completely replacing the existing track to meet NCAA regulations, renovating the long- and triple-jump event area and the pole vault area, adding lighting and safety improvements, installing a new multisport synthetic turf field at the track’s interior, updating the stands and scoreboard, and more.

“Visions is proud to partner with the University on such a meaningful project that will benefit students and our local community,” VFCU CEO Ty Muse, who is also Binghamton University Foundation vice chair, said in a statement. “It’s been an incredible opportunity for Visions to make both a University and community impact.”

EastRise Logo Appears on Field

Separately, in Burlington, Vt., the logo of EastRise Credit Union now appears on Virtue Field at the University of Vermont. The field is the home of UVM men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s lacrosse teams. As part of the enhanced partnership, EastRise will serve as the presenting sponsor of both the reigning national champion men’s soccer team and the women’s soccer program, the organizations said.

The $3-billion EastRise CU is the first corporate partner to secure on-field logo placement at Virtue Field.
As part of the partnership, EastRise will also support Catamount student success by “delivering essential financial literacy education to student athletes with a special emphasis on navigating Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) opportunities,” the organizations said.

Deeper Commitment

“We are proud to deepen our commitment to UVM Athletics and excited to have our hometown team play on a field featuring our EastRise logo,” Sarah Ricker, community relationship manager at EastRise Credit Union, said in a statement. “More importantly, this partnership gives us a meaningful way to support our young student-athletes with financial education and tools that help all students build stronger futures on campus and beyond.”
The credit union has been an official sponsor of UVM Athletics for over a decade, serving as the official partner for a wide array of Catamount programs, including as the sponsor of the men’s and women’s soccer team.
