University First CU To Hold Event Announcing New Name, Partnership

WEST JORDAN, Utah–University First (UFirst) Credit Union said it plans to hold a press event on April 11 at which it will unveil a new name, as well as celebrate a new partnership with Make-A-Wish Utah. 

The event will be held at the UFirst Credit Union Financial Center at 6874 Center Park Dr., West Jordan, Utah.

This announcement reflects the credit union’s growth and, according to Chief Marketing Officer Eric Richards.

It will also allow the $2.02-billion credit union to “differentiate in the marketplace while remaining true to [its] roots which began at the University of Utah and supporting members long into the future,” Richards said in a statement. 

The event will feature remarks from key leaders and stakeholders, including:

“We are excited to share this next chapter in our credit union’s journey,” said UFirst CU President and CEO Jack Buttars said in a statement. “This evolution is about more than just a name, it’s about commitment to our members and the communities we serve.”

What’s On Agenda

The event will include a presentation of the credit union’s goals, the inspiration behind their new name, and what this transition means for members, UFirst stated, adding it will also reaffirm its partnership with Make-A-Wish Utah and their participation in an upcoming Drive for Wishes that will facilitate Wishes for 7+ children in Utah. 

The credit union has approximately 129,000 members.
