Velera Launches New Cloud-Native Tech Ecosystem to Unify Data, Payments, Risk & Digital Experiences

TAMPA, Fla. — Velera has launched a new cloud-native technology ecosystem the company said is designed to unify data, payments, risk and digital experiences for credit unions. 

The Velera Ecosystem includes Stellaris, the company’s technology stack, and Atmos, its intelligence layer, which together are intended to provide end-to-end connectivity across the Velera product suite, according to the company. 

The announcement was made during the VeleraLIVE event in Orlando, Fla. 

“Velera is incredibly proud of the ecosystem we have crafted over the past couple years, because it’s not just an ecosystem: it’s an engine,” Denise Stevens, EVP and chief product and technology officer, said in a statement. “Stellaris and Atmos are unlike anything in the market, with the ability to power credit unions’ products and strategies regardless of where they are or what their tech stack looks like today. What truly sets this ecosystem apart is that we built it alongside our credit unions – collaboratively shaping a solution designed to meet their needs today and into the future.” 

Two Years in Development

Velera said the ecosystem has been developed over the past two years and is designed to help credit unions address industry challenges such as modernizing legacy systems, mitigating fraud risks and competing in a rapidly evolving financial services landscape. 

According to the company, the ecosystem continuously processes real-time data to support faster onboarding, connected digital experiences, unified data and real-time intelligence, as well as what it described as “opti-channel” risk mitigation and shared components across a connected product environment. 

Velera said Stellaris is built on a “build once, use everywhere” approach, allowing solutions to be developed once and deployed across multiple products and channels. The processor-independent design is intended to allow seamless integration of emerging technologies and provide flexibility for credit unions to adapt and grow, the company stated.

Atmos functions as the intelligence orchestration layer within the ecosystem, transforming data across member touchpoints into actionable insights, business intelligence and real-time risk mitigation, the company said. 

The Components of Atoms

Velera said Atmos includes several components:

  • Atmos Data: A unified data ecosystem and neural data network designed to centralize intelligence, enable artificial intelligence and create connected experiences across Velera’s solutions.
  • Atmos Risk: A fraud management ecosystem combining real-time intelligence and expert insight to protect credit unions while maintaining member experience.
  • Atmos Payments: A network of payment channels designed to provide security, flexibility and choice for moving money across platforms. 

The company said the ecosystem is intended to serve as the foundation for its next-generation innovation platform, helping credit unions operate in a digital-first environment where real-time insights and seamless member experiences are increasingly critical. 

Velera said it serves more than 4,000 financial institutions across North America and provides services including payment processing, fraud and risk management, data and analytics, digital banking and contact center support.
