SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Visions Federal Credit Union and Syracuse University have announced an expansion of their partnership, including the opening of a new campus branch on Marshall Street and the completion of the inaugural year of the Student-Athlete Financial Empowerment Program.
The new Visions branch, located at 145 Marshall St., is designed to provide accessible financial services directly to the Syracuse University community. According to Syracuse University Today, the branch will offer ATM access, one-on-one financial counseling and support for bilingual students and community members.
The branch opening comes as the Visions FCU Student-Athlete Financial Empowerment Program completed its first year. The initiative is a collaboration among Visions Federal Credit Union, Syracuse University Athletics and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management.

More Than 150 Students Participate
According to Syracuse University Today, more than 150 students participated in the inaugural class, including 34 student-athletes. The program focused on financial literacy topics such as:
- Budgeting
- Credit management
- Investing
- Long-term financial planning
Enrollment is now open for the Fall 2026 semester, Syracuse University Today reported.
“It’s all information that I can use in my day to day now, and I already feel like it’s helped me a lot,” Eve O’Sullivan, an entrepreneurship major and member of Syracuse’s women’s rowing team, said in comments published by Syracuse University Today.
Fin Lit Workshops
Beyond the classroom, Visions officials conducted financial literacy workshops for Syracuse varsity sports teams and student veterans through partnerships with the university’s Office of Veteran and Military Affairs, Syracuse University Today reported. The outreach included webinars and networking events.
Visions President and CEO Ty Muse has served on the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs Board for more than two years, reflecting the credit union’s ongoing involvement with the university community, according to Syracuse University Today.

“This partnership continues to grow in ways that directly benefit our students, our student-athletes and our broader community,” Tim Strong, assistant vice president of branding and community impact at Visions, said in a statement.. “The opening of our Marshall Street branch, combined with the success of our inaugural cohort and our work with student veterans, reflects our deep investment in Syracuse and the people who call it home. We are just getting started.”
