2 CU Reps Testify at New Hampshire Senate Hearing on Compensating Board Members

CONCORD, N.H.—Two credit union representatives testified before the New Hampshire Senate Commerce Committee on a bill that would allow board members to be compensated.

Testifying favor of the measure were Scott MacKnight, president/CEO of Triangle Credit Union, and Jessica Avery, director of advocacy with the Cooperative Credit Union Association.

According to the CCUA, Sen. Daniel Innis, the committee’s chairman and the bill’s lead sponsor, testified in support of the legislation, highlighted the bill’s action last session, and spoke of the benefit to state-chartered credit unions. In addition, Banking Commission Emilia Galdieri testified on the bill, underscoring neutrality on the issue and success in other states, the CCUA said.

The Commerce Committee unanimously voted to move SB 487 out of committee.
