ST. LOUIS–Alltru Credit Union has introduced two new checking accounts it said are designed to provide members with money saving tools, better protection, and value.

The $359.5-million Alltru, which is a CDFI, has launched Premium and Value Checking, respectively, with features that include identity theft protection, fraud resolution support, roadside assistance, 24/7 telehealth services, cellphone protection, extended warranties, and fuel savings.

The Premium account has a monthly fee as low as $8 that is waived for monthly balances greater than $15. The Value Checking Account carries a $5 monthly fee.

“We asked, and our members told us they needed more from their credit union to protect them from fraud and to provide services to add value to their lives,” VP-Brand and Product Strategy Laura Woods said in a statement. “These new accounts provide the security, convenience, and benefits that will help our members save money and achieve their financial goals.”

‘Years of Feedback’

The 40,000-member credit union said Premium and Value Checking are the result of years of listening to member feedback and building partnerships. It said that feedback has allowed it to deliver a peak value to members that could save them approximately $700 or more per year in subscriptions and medical co-pays.

$300 Offer for New Members

On its website Alltru is offering up to $300 to new members who open a checking account and within 50 days sign up for online banking and complete at least two $500 deposits.
