ROME, N.Y. — AmeriCU Credit Union said it has received approval to expand its field of membership to 27 more counties across New York State.

According to the $3-billion credit union, the New York State Department of Financial Services approved AmeriCU’s application, bringing the total number of counties it serves to 51.
The new counties include Albany, Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Erie, Genesee, Greene, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Ontario, Orleans, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schuyler, Steuben, Sullivan, Ulster, Warren, Washington, Wyoming and Yates.
AmeriCU has more than 110,000 members.
