AmeriCU’s Maggie Pope Inducted into CU Hall of Fame by New York CU Association

PERU, N.Y. — AmeriCU Credit Union Assistant Vice President of Business and Member Relationship Development Maggie Pope has been inducted into the 2026 Credit Union Hall of Fame by the New York Credit Union Association.

The recognition was presented during the association’s EXCEL 26 conference and honors individuals who have demonstrated a lifelong commitment to the credit union philosophy and the movement’s success, according to AmeriCU.

Pope has spent more than 23 years in the credit union industry, where she has focused on expanding financial access, supporting employees and members, and building community partnerships.

Former CU CEO

Before joining AmeriCU, Pope served as president and CEO of Mountain Valley Federal Credit Union, leading the institution through a period of growth before overseeing its merger with AmeriCU Credit Union. She also has served in several leadership roles with the New York Credit Union Association, including as a member of its board of directors.

“I am incredibly honored to receive this recognition,” Pope said in a statement released by AmeriCU. “I have been fortunate to work alongside so many talented people who share the same passion for helping others, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be part of the credit union movement.”

Reflection of Philosophy

At AmeriCU, Pope leads business and member relationship development efforts and works to expand partnerships intended to create additional financial opportunities for members and the communities the credit union serves.

AmeriCU said Pope’s career has reflected the credit union industry’s people helping people philosophy through her work supporting members and strengthening community relationships.
