AmFirst Announces News Around Two Branches

CULLMAN, Ala.–AmFirst Credit Union has announced moves related to new branches.

AmFirst celebrated the grand reopening of its newly rebuilt branch in Cullman, Ala., marking a renewed investment in the community the credit union has proudly served for nearly five decades.

Located at 300 4th Ave SW, the Cullman Branch opened in 1979. In 2025, AmFirst began a full rebuild of the location, demolishing the existing branch and constructing an entirely new facility. Throughout construction, the Cullman team continued serving members from a temporary branch on the property.

The grand reopening brought together AmFirst employees and leadership, along with members of the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce, school board representatives, and community leaders, to celebrate the new branch’s completion.

“AmFirst made a decision in 1979 to be part of the Cullman community,” said AmFirst President and CEO Kevin Morris. “To see the exponential growth we’ve experienced and to be part of the downtown renovation here in Cullman means so much to who we are as a community-chartered credit union and to who we want to be for our members.”

AmFirst’s rebuild aligns with Cullman’s broader plans to revitalize its downtown areas. “When you create a district or an area, people want to invest money and make it better,” said Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs. “Y’all were just a little ahead of the curve, and we really appreciate that.”

AmFirst’s commitment to Cullman extends beyond the walls of its branch. The credit union is a proud member of the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce and regularly supports community events and initiatives, such as Second Fridays and the Cullman Christkindlmarkt.

Guests enjoyed coffee from Karma’s Coffee House and food from Just 2 Chicks Catering, while Balloons and More provided décor for the celebration. Attendees received a commemorative handcrafted AmFirst clay mug by local artisan Ashley Mercantile.

Second Branch to Open

Separately, AmFirst has purchased property located at 2040 7th St S, Clanton, AL 35045, marking the credit union’s planned expansion into Chilton County. The new location will become AmFirst’s 23rd branch and its first in Chilton County.

The property, formerly a financial institution, covers approximately 3,000 square feet and will be renovated into a full-service AmFirst branch. Plans for the location include multiple office spaces, teller stations, a full-service drive-thru, and an ITM.

The Clanton location reflects AmFirst’s continued investment in expanding access to financial services across Alabama. Once open, the branch will offer individuals, families, and businesses in Clanton and the surrounding Chilton County area easy in-person access to AmFirst’s full range of financial products and services.

“While this is our first physical location, we already have an established base of members we serve,” said Kevin Morris, President and CEO of AmFirst. “Our brand is well known through personal and business relationships and sponsorships that have grown over time. This branch will expand our opportunities and help us continue building relationships with those who make Clanton and Chilton County such a special place. As AmFirst grows, we remain focused on being a trusted financial partner and an active member of every community we serve.”

AmFirst plans to begin renovations in the existing building immediately, with the new Clanton branch expected to open in late 2026. Additional details on construction and a future grand opening celebration will be announced as plans progress.
