AmFirst Opens New Branch on Campus of Jacksonville State University

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—AmFirst officially opened its newest branch on the campus of Jacksonville State University, expanding its partnership with the university and providing students, faculty, staff, and the Jacksonville community with convenient access to full-service financial services.

Located at 802 Pelham Road North, the new location marks AmFirst’s 22nd branch. AmFirst and Jax State celebrated the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring remarks from AmFirst President and CEO Kevin Morris and Jax State President Dr. Don C. Killingsworth, Jr.

“When an organization chooses to establish a physical presence on a university campus, it sends a strong message,” said Killingsworth. “We believe in this institution. We believe in its students, and we want to be a part of its future. We are grateful that AmFirst made that commitment to Jax State.”

The grand opening celebration welcomed students, leaders, community members, and AmFirst employees to the new location. Guests enjoyed coffee and refreshments and received limited-edition AmFirst x Jax State bobbleheads commemorating the opening.

The campus branch marks the latest milestone in the growing partnership between AmFirst and Jax State. The relationship officially began in July 2024 with a multi-year partnership that included the naming of AmFirst Stadium.

Since then, AmFirst and Jax State have continued to expand their relationship beyond athletics, with the new branch creating an opportunity for AmFirst to establish a permanent presence on campus and become even more integrated into the university community.

“Our partnership with Jax State has always been about more than having our name on a stadium,” said Morris. “Opening a branch on campus lets us be part of the everyday Jax State experience and build relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the Jacksonville community.”

The new location will also enable AmFirst to support students throughout their college experience by providing convenient access to financial services and resources and by helping them establish strong financial habits as they prepare for life after graduation.

“Having a trusted financial partner, right here on campus, creates opportunities to help our students understand banking, credit, saving, borrowing, and ultimately, how to build a strong financial future,” said Killingsworth.

The Jax State Campus branch is now open to serve AmFirst members and the Jacksonville community Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Fridays until 6 p.m.
