Arena Gets a New Vibe as CU Buys Naming Rights

NOVI, Mich.— Vibe Credit Union has secured the naming rights to what is currently known as Suburban Collection Showplace, one of Southeast Michigan’s largest event venues.

The facility will be renamed the Vibe Credit Union Showplace beginning Jan. 1. Terms of the deal were not released.

“Vibe Credit Union works to lead our industry in the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’” President and CEO Chaz Rzewnicki said in a statement. “Growth drives our ability to make a bigger impact locally — and that is what this partnership offers — a way to inform the community about Vibe Credit Union and help people on a much larger scale.”

The renaming links the region’s largest indoor convention and exposition center with a credit union whose roots date back to 1936, when it served employees of Michigan Bell Telephone Co. Vibe later combined with Oakland County Credit Union and now serves more than 74,000 members across Southeast Michigan with $1.35 billion in assets.

Growing Public Interest

The credit union said the move reflects growing public interest in institutions that
“prioritize local investment.”

In making its announcement, Vibe highlighted several recent member-focused initiatives, including eliminating all non-sufficient funds fees in 2024 — a change it says saves members $1.1 million annually — and maintaining above-average dividends and below-market loan rates.

The credit union said it also logged nearly 8,000 community service hours this year and provided $650,000 in financial support to local nonprofits.

Vibe operates a 130-person community center at its Novi headquarters and dedicates shared space in every branch. The renamed venue, leaders said, will expand opportunities for public gatherings and community outreach.

The Superlative Group, Inc., which specializes in naming-rights agreements, facilitated the deal between BoCo Enterprises and Vibe Credit Union.
