OGDEN, Utah — The hunt is over for a $10,000 wallet hidden somewhere in Utah as part of Bank of Utah’s annual statewide treasure hunt.

Bank of Utah announced at about 5:30 p.m. Friday that someone had found the wallet in the fourth annual “Where’s the Wallet Cash Quest,” although the bank did not immediately identify the winner or disclose where the treasure had been hidden, according to ABC4 News.

The winner will receive $10,000 in cash, while Bank of Utah will donate an additional $10,000 to a Utah-based charity selected by the winner.

The bank said additional details are expected next week, including explanations of how each of the clues led to the wallet.

Until then, unsuccessful treasure hunters can continue trying to decipher the five clues released during this year’s contest.

Launched in 2023

Bank of Utah launched its first Where’s the Wallet Cash Quest in 2023. The contest uses a series of riddles and clues to lead participants to a wallet hidden somewhere in Utah.

The precise location of this year’s wallet — and how clues involving Utah’s beginnings, spiders or bugs, a “lonely soul,” flowers, something sweet, a “Ghostly line,” “hotel in california” and the emphasized letters N, G and S led the winner there — will remain part of the mystery until Bank of Utah releases its solutions.
