Association Formed by Merger of Mississippi, Tennessee Leagues to be Called ‘AnchorPoint’

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — The association formed by the merger of the Tennessee Credit Union League and Mississippi Credit Union Association has adopted the name AnchorPoint Credit Union Association, representing more than 175 credit unions serving 3.5 million members across the two states.

The new name reflects a focus on providing stability, direction and a stronger voice for credit unions, the two organizations said in an announcement.

The Tennessee league, founded in 1934, and Mississippi association, founded in 1937, formed a strategic alliance in 2023. Mississippi association members voted in December 2025 to merge with the Tennessee league. The combined organization began operating Jan. 1, 2026, as the Tennessee and Mississippi Credit Union Association.

Fred Robinson of the Tennessee league serves as president and CEO, with Charles Elliott serving as ex officio president.

“The financial services landscape is shifting faster than ever, from regulatory changes to digital transformation,” Robinson said in a statement. “AnchorPoint reflects our core promise to our members—to be a stronger voice for credit unions.”

Governance And Services Continue

Existing staff contacts and governance structures will remain in place during the brand transition, according to the announcement. AnchorPoint has an 18-member board, with nine credit union representatives from each state.

The association said it is the nation’s ninth-largest credit union league based on the number of credit unions represented.

Laura Parham, AnchorPoint’s chairwoman and president and CEO of Heritage South Community Credit Union in Shelbyville, Tenn., said the merger positions the organization for its next phase of service and advocacy.

“This wasn’t just a structural change; it was a statement,” Parham said in a statement. “A statement that we are stronger together. A statement that we are ready for the next era of service and advocacy.”

Robinson credited the board’s leadership with keeping decisions focused on the association’s mission and long-term value for members and communities.

New Brand, State Identities

The association said the “anchor” in its name represents stability and trust through regulatory changes and economic uncertainty, while “point” represents direction in advocacy, compliance and strategy.

Its new logo features a forward-moving chevron with a compass star, symbolizing the association’s intended role as a reference point for credit unions.

For state-specific advocacy and events, the organization also will use Tennessee Credit Unions and Mississippi Credit Unions as identities within the AnchorPoint brand.

An introduction to the brand is available at anchorpoint.coop. The existing yourleague.org website will remain available until the new AnchorPoint website launches.

Staff email addresses will transition to anchorpoint.coop later this year, and current addresses will continue to receive messages. Member credit unions will continue receiving existing services and do not need to take any action, the association said.
