B-Day Boxes Assembled by MIDFLORIDA Staff

More Than 400 MIDFLORIDA Staff Help Assemble Birthday Boxes

LAKELAND, Fla.– MIDFLORIDA Credit Union said it completed a large-scale volunteer effort in which more than 400 of its staff came together to assemble 2,000 birthday boxes for children in need.

The special boxes, filled with cake mix, candles, decorations, and other birthday essentials, will be distributed to school pantries throughout MIDFLORIDA’s service area, “ensuring that every child can celebrate their special day,” the credit union said.

“This initiative aligns with MIDFLORIDA’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the communities it serves,” the credit union said in a statement. “By partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay, the credit union was able to ensure these birthday boxes will reach children facing food insecurity, providing them with a small but meaningful celebration they might otherwise go without.”

‘Difference Beyond Banking’

“At MIDFLORIDA, we believe in making a difference beyond banking,” Chief Marketing Officer Jill Davis said in a statement. “Every child deserves to feel special on their birthday, and we’re honored to play a role in making that happen. We couldn’t have done it without the support of Feeding Tampa Bay, and we are incredibly grateful for their help in getting these boxes into local schools.”

The $8-billion MIDFLORIDA CU said the birthday box initiative is part of its larger commitment to community involvement, supporting local families through outreach programs, financial education, and volunteer efforts.
