COLONIE, N.Y.– For the second time in less than a month, credit union employees are being credited with saving a member from being scammed out of a significant amount of money.
An elderly male member of Community Resource FCU stopped into a branch and attempted to withdraw $30,000, telling employees someone had instructed him to do it for a construction project, according to WNYT.

Colonie police caught the suspects by posing as the victim, the report said, with one officer seriously hurt while making the arrest.
Assault Charge
Huifeng Jin, 43, and Qinghua Wang, 34, are both charged with grand larceny.
Jin is also charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest. He was sent to Albany County Jail.
Wang was released on probation.
As the CU Daily reported here, in early September staff at a branch of WEOKIE Credit Union in Oklahoma prevented a member from being scammed out of $50,000.
