SAN DIEGO— California Coast Credit Union has entered into a new five-year partnership with the City of San Diego to serve as the city’s official financial services provider, according to the credit union.
The agreement reflects a shared focus on financial well-being, workforce support and community investment, CalCoast said in announcing the deal.
“We very much appreciate the City Council’s continued confidence and recognition of what we’ve accomplished together over the past decade,” President and CEO Todd Lane said in a statement. “This renewal is both an honor and a responsibility.”

What’s Included
Under the agreement, the credit union will provide financial education, products and services to City of San Diego employees, retirees, volunteers and their families. CalCoast said the offerings will include:
- Participation in new employee orientations
- On-site and virtual outreach at city facilities
- Free one-on-one financial counseling and coaching through its Financial Fitness Program
- No-cost financial education resources, including workshops and youth programs
- Customized loan products for public safety recruits
- Member benefits such as early access to paychecks, waived membership fees, referral incentives and special loan and savings offers
Annual Investment to be Made
The $3.6-billion Cal Coast said it will also make an annual investment to support workforce development and community programs across San Diego.
Programs funded under the agreement include:
- Youth development and work-readiness initiatives
- Parks and recreation volunteer programs
- Fire-rescue community outreach and safety education
- Economic development grants for businesses and nonprofits in low- to moderate-income communities
- A youth-led career expo
- The University of San Diego’s nonprofit academy
- A small business navigator program
Lane said the partnership allows the credit union to support city employees, first responders and volunteers while reinvesting in local programs that strengthen small businesses and nonprofits.
California Coast Credit Union has more than 200,000 members.
