CEFCU Breaks Ground on 58K-Square-Foot Annex to Corporate HQ

PEORIA, Ill. — CEFCU has broken ground on a 58,000-square-foot annex to its corporate headquarters, an expansion the credit union said will provide additional room for employees, training and collaboration.

The credit union held a groundbreaking ceremony Monday for the building, which will be next to its existing Peoria headquarters.

Plans include office, meeting and common space with more than 290 desks, along with a 9,570-square-foot training center that can accommodate up to 144 people. CEFCU has more than 1,040 employees.

‘Important Investment’

“This groundbreaking represents an important investment in CEFCU’s future,” CEFCU Board Chair Kavita Sachdev said. She said the project also reflects the organization’s commitment to central Illinois.

President and CEO Matt Mamer said the additional space will support employee training and growth while helping the credit union serve its members.

Farnsworth Group designed the annex, and PJ Hoerr is the project’s contractor. Construction is expected to begin following the groundbreaking, according to CEFCU.
