SALT LAKE CITY — Children’s Miracle Network has partnered with PayOnward and Digital Joy to offer credit unions new digital tools that allow members to donate to local children’s hospitals through online and mobile banking channels, the organization said.
PayOnward and Digital Joy are portfolio companies of Black Dragon Capital. The partnership is designed to integrate charitable giving into credit unions’ existing digital banking experiences while helping Children’s Miracle Network generate additional support for its network of hospitals.
Credit unions have raised millions of dollars for Children’s Miracle Network over the years, supporting medical treatments, equipment, pediatric research and services for families, according to the organization.
“Credit unions have always demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to improving the lives of children in their communities,” said Kristen Schavemaker, chief partnerships officer at Children’s Miracle Network. “By partnering with Black Dragon Capital and its portfolio companies, we’re making it easier than ever for members to support their local children’s hospital through secure, seamless giving experiences integrated directly into their everyday banking.”
The white-labeled digital payment platform, powered by PayOnward and Digital Joy, will offer participating credit unions several ways for members to contribute:
- Give@Login: An ongoing donation option presented during online and mobile banking sessions that allows members to contribute to their local Children’s Miracle Network hospital.
- In-person giving: QR code-enabled donation opportunities that credit unions can make available in branches, drive-throughs and at community events.
- Digital Joy Engage: An audience-engagement platform designed to boost participation and charitable giving through interactive digital experiences.
Children’s Miracle Network said the tools are intended to make donations easier while allowing credit unions to incorporate charitable giving into members’ regular digital interactions.

Hernandez has supported organizations serving children’s hospitals for years. For more than 15 years, Black Dragon has partnered with Hernandez’s For A Bright Future foundation, which supports underserved communities through education, health care, leadership development and the arts. Children’s Miracle Network also has been a longtime partner of the foundation.
Children’s Miracle Network said the partnership is part of its effort to expand fundraising options, increase donor participation and generate additional funding for local children’s hospitals.
