LITTLETON, Colo.— The Colorado Credit Union Cares Foundation has been officially launched by Colorado CU as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing financial empowerment and strengthening communities throughout Colorado.
The Foundation builds on Colorado Credit Union’s longstanding commitment to service and community impact. Through strategic partnerships with nonprofits, community organizations, and local schools, the Colorado Credit Union Cares Foundation delivers accessible financial education programs designed to help people of all ages build strong financial foundations that support economic growth and generational wealth.

“Financial literacy is a powerful tool for creating opportunity and long‑term stability,” said Teagan Werden, Executive Director of the Colorado Credit Union Cares Foundation. “The Foundation was created to provide accessible financial knowledge, resources, and support that empower people in our communities to make confident decisions and reach their financial goals.”
Supported by the dedication and expertise of Colorado Credit Union staff, the Foundation develops and delivers its programs in close collaboration with its strategic partners. These partnerships help ensure financial education is relevant, accessible, and rooted in the real‑world experiences of the communities served. Financial education programs emphasize inclusive, accessible learning opportunities to meet people where they are on their financial journeys.
The Foundation will mark an important milestone with its first major fundraising event, the Colorado Credit Union Cares Foundation Inaugural Golf Tournament, scheduled for September 2026. The event will bring together credit union leaders, supporters, nonprofit partners, and community members to raise support and awareness for the Foundation’s community impact initiatives.
