DES MOINES, Iowa — Drake University Athletics has entered into a new multi-year partnership with Community Choice Credit Union that will introduce the first co-branded affinity debit and credit cards featuring Drake Athletics logos, the organizations announced.
Under the agreement, fans who join Community Choice and open a “Bulldog Account” will be eligible for the cards, which are expected to be available soon. The Bulldog Excellence credit card will return 1% of each transaction to the cardholder and 1% to the Drake Athletics Excellence Fund, according to the organizations.
The fund supports revenue-sharing opportunities for student-athletes, with the goal of enhancing the overall athlete experience and providing additional financial resources for Drake Athletics.
Community Choice CEO Josh Cook said the partnership is designed to deepen community engagement while providing a new way for fans to support student-athletes.
‘More Than a Card’
“This partnership is about more than a card, it’s about bringing people together, celebrating Bulldog pride, and creating opportunities for fans to support student-athletes in a way that feels personal and impactful,” Cook said in a statement. “When local organizations come together like this, everyone wins.”
Community Choice Credit Union serves more than 50,000 members. The credit union also has relationships with Iowa State University and the University of Iowa.
