CU-Supported Delaware Public Deposits Bill, NH Board Comp Bill, Head to Governors for Signatures

DOVER, Del.–A public deposits bill in Delaware that has strong backing from credit unions has now gone to Gov. Matt Meyer for his signature.

As the CU Daily reported earlier here, the Cooperative Credit Union Association and Delaware Credit Unions had expressed support for the legislation, which relates to public deposits into credit unions. Sen. Spiros Mantzavinos, chair of the Senate Banking Committee and the legislative sponsor of Public Deposits, had earlier delivered remarks on the floor supporting SB247, which was then passed unanimously in the Senate, 21-0.

The CCUA said it had also been invited to testify before the Senate during the session.

New Hampshire Board Comp Bill

Separately, in New Hampshire, SB487, the Board Member Compensation bill, has successfully passed both the House and Senate.

“Notably, unlike in previous sessions, this bill advanced as a standalone measure, reflecting legislative effectiveness in our priorities,” the CCUA said.

The bill now moves to enrollment before heading to Governor Ayotte for signature.
