CUs Backing Candidates in 7 State Primaries This Week, Including 5 Today

WASHINGTON–With November’s general elections approaching, seven states are holding primaries this week, with credit unions backing candidates in many of the races.

Holding primaries today are Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Virginia, and Washington, while voters will go to the polls on Thursday in Tennessee and on Saturday in Hawaii.

America’s Credit Unions said its PAC is supporting four candidates in Kansas, 11 in Michigan, five in Missouri, eight in Virginia, and six in Washington, in addition to support for five candidates in Tennessee and one in Hawaii.

The trade group said key races it has identified include:

  • Michigan’s 13th Congressional District, where current State Rep. Donovan McKinney is seeking the Democratic nomination.
  • Tennessee’s newly redrawn 9th Congressional District, where State Sen. Brent Taylor is competing for the Republican nomination.

America’s Credit Unions’ PAC has additional information on its Credit Union Elections Hub.
