Day Air CU Pays $6.5Million for Building That is to Become New HQ

KETTERING, Ohio — Day Air Credit Union paid $6.05 million for the former Teradata headquarters at Austin Landing, where it plans to relocate its headquarters next summer, according to the Dayton Daily News.

Montgomery County auditor’s records show the credit union purchased two parcels on Innovation Drive from Innovation Pointe III, a Phoenix-based limited liability company. The sale was dated Sept. 28, the newspaper reported.

The property includes a two-story office building with more than 61,000 square feet and about 5.5 acres of land.

Day Air announced the purchase in mid-September, saying the decision was “the result of an exhaustive, multi-year search process” that included evaluating construction of a new facility and purchasing an existing property, according to the Dayton Daily News.

HQ to Become a Branch

The credit union’s current headquarters at 3501 Wilmington Pike in Kettering will continue operating as a branch after the move.

The building was among the first office buildings in the more than 140-acre Austin Landing development in Miami Township. It previously served as the headquarters of data analytics company Teradata, which moved its headquarters to San Diego in 2018. That relocation affected more than 260 local jobs, the newspaper reported.

Day Air has more than $900 million in assets and more than 54,000 members.
