EECU Sponsors Events Tied to Black Maternal Heath Week

FRESNO, Calif.–In honor of Black Maternal Health Week, Educational Employees Credit Union (EECU) is sponsoring events hosted by the BLACK Wellness & Prosperity Center (BWPC) in Fresno. These initiatives aim to improve Black maternal and infant health outcomes in the Central Valley.

Founded in 2017 by Shantay R. Davies-Balch, BWPC is dedicated to addressing the critical health disparities affecting Black women and families. The organization focuses on improving infant mortality rates, reducing preterm births, and preventing maternal mortality.

As part of Black Maternal Health Week, BWPC hosted a Black Maternal Health Exhibition during ArtHop in Downtown Fresno . It is being followed by a Health Fair and Jubilee.

“Our goal is to be a catalyst to improve well-being and prosperity in the Black community, ensuring long-term improvements in Black maternal and child health,” Davies-Balch said. “We deeply appreciate partners like EECU for their support in expanding our events and elevating our vision.”
