AMARILLO, Texas–Education Credit Union (ECU) is reporting its employees topped the organization’s volunteer hours goal as part of the “90 Days, 900 Ways to Give” initiative.
ECU said to celebrate its 90th anniversary it launched an ambitious community service initiative to reach 900 volunteer hours within the first 90 days of 2025.
ECU said its team surpassed the goal and donated a total of 1,281 volunteer hours to the Texas Panhandle.
Employees served organizations across the Panhandle, including:
- 61 nonprofits
- 40 community-based organizations
- 8 churches
- 9 college and university events
“At ECU, we believe in giving back to the communities that have supported us for 90 years. This initiative was about more than reaching a number. It was about making a lasting impact. Our employees stepped up in incredible ways, embodying the credit union philosophy of people helping people,” ECU CEO Marcus Smith said in a statement.
