Financial Plus Donates $40,000 to United Way

FLINT, Mich.–Financial Plus Credit Union has made a donation of $40,000 to the United Way.  The donation stems from an employee contribution campaign and will benefit the United Way of  Genesee, Shiawassee, Saginaw, and Bay Counties, the credit union said.

With the contribution, Financial Plus is the top contributing financial institution for a local United Way employee campaign.

The campaign received its highest participation to date, with 173 employees contributing across the  organization. Employees were given the option to contribute through regular deductions from the  paychecks or opt for a one-time donation to the United Way. Overall, $18,200 will be donated to the  United Way solely through employee contributions. Financial Plus has pledged to match all  contributions, bringing the total donation to $40,000.

“At Financial Plus, giving back isn’t just something we do, it’s who we are. We truly believe in the credit  union philosophy of ‘people helping people,’ and every year, more of our team steps up to support the  United Way. Their generosity speaks volumes, showing how much they care about uplifting underserved  communities and local nonprofits. We’re grateful for their passion and are proud to continue making a difference in the communities we serve,” DeAnna Wallace, SVP of people & retail delivery, said in a statement.

“We are so thankful for this contribution and the dollar for dollar match. The pledges and the match  make this our largest local campaign partnership in the financial sector,” said Jamie Gaskin, CEO of the  United Way of Genesee County, regarding the employee campaign with Financial Plus.
