OSWEGO, Ill. — Earthmover Credit Union (ECU) awarded five Teen College Scholarships totaling $10,000 to five local high school students. Each scholarship recipient received $2,000. The winners were based on outstanding academics and an essay about a time their beliefs were challenged.
This year’s winners are:
· Lucas Orozco | University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, mechanical engineering
· Ruth Oudyn | Waubonsee Community College and transferring to University of Illinois Chicago, nursing
· Lucas Schuster | Northern Illinois University, biomedical engineering
· Saralisse Morales | University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, speech and hearing science
· Owen Cousins | University of Notre Dame, economics
The $10,000 in scholarships is a large increase from previous years and a demonstration of our commitment to the community. We wish these five students all the best in their future endeavors!
