Fort Bragg FCU, Which Became Fort Liberty FCU, is Fort Bragg FCU Again

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.–Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union, which changed its name to Fort Liberty FCU when the military installation changed its name, is now following the military base and changing its name back to Fort Bragg FCU.

In July 2023, then Fort Bragg FCU changed its name to Fort Liberty after the Biden Administration ordered the change away from the name that honored Gen. Braxton Bragg, a confederate general. But the Trump administration has ordered the name be changed back.

The credit union, chartered in 1960, has $645.6 million in assets and more than 37,000 members.

‘While our name has changed our dedication to providing exceptional products and services remains the same,” Fort Bragg FCU said in a message on its website.

The credit union said that in the coming weeks members will see updated signage, official documents and more.

‘Ongoing Dedication’

“This renaming decision reflects our ongoing dedication to our members and our deep-rooted history,” CEO Todd Kenthack said in a statement on the website. While our name is changing, our mission remains the same—to provide exceptional financial services to our military and civilian members and the communities we serve.”
