GoWest Association Opens Enrollment for Small CU Accelerator Program

SEATTLE–GoWest Credit Union Association said it has opened enrollment for its Small Credit Union Accelerator Program, a new initiative designed for credit unions under $250 million in assets, to equip these institutions with the “resources, collaboration and advocacy support needed to thrive in today’s operating environment.”

Enrollment is open through May 17.

According to the GoWest Association, the Accelerator Program was built by and for small credit unions and “delivers a hands-on, customizable experience that offers strategic coaching, peer collaboration, dedicated vendors, and tailored support aligned to their specific business goals and member needs.”

“This is exciting for a lot of reasons,” President and CEO Troy Stang said in a statement. “We are hearing from credit unions and business partners alike who want to engage or participate in the accelerator program. It’s no secret that the financial services landscape is rapidly changing, and all institutions are chasing the question of relevancy of tomorrow.”

Advancing ‘Confidence & Relevance’

Added SVP-Engagement and Development Carmen Vigil in a statement, “This program is about turning strategy into action. This initiative connects small credit unions with the timely expertise, tools, and peer networks to advance their confidence and relevance in a rapidly changing environment. It’s a customized approach where each participant will choose the supports and programming they want based on their member needs and business goals. That is what this cooperative movement is all about: cooperation that helps everyone thrive and be relevant.”

The association said participants will have the flexibility to select from a range of targeted support areas, including operations, marketing, leadership development, and growth strategy, while building lasting connections across the GoWest network.

According to GoWest, the program is supported by a select group of industry experts who provide specialized guidance and coaching throughout the experience, which can be found here. In addition, it said participating credit unions will have access to staff shadowing and exchange opportunities, enabling hands-on learning and collaboration across institutions.
