Deadline for Herb Wegner Awards Nominations is Approaching, NCUF Reminds

WASHINGTON–The National Credit Union Foundation is reminding that the deadline to nominate someone for the highest honors in U.S. credit unions, the Herb Wegner Awards, is May 31.

The NCUA is asking credit union leaders to consider “Who is shaping the future of the credit union movement?” and to consider that person for nomination.

“The Herb Wegner Memorial Awards recognize the leaders, organizations, and programs helping shape the future of the credit union movement through bold vision, innovation, and measurable impact,” the foundation said. “These awards are an opportunity to elevate the stories that define who we are and where we’re going.

As the nomination window comes to a close on May 31, we invite you to consider: Who is making a lasting difference in your community, organization, or across the movement? Who embodies the spirit of people helping people through leadership, service, and a commitment to improving financial well-being?”

Nominations require five-10 personal recommendations, and those stories “often become one of the most powerful parts of a nomination,” the NCUF said.
