BOSTON–Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s unique “WealthTrek” branch, which combines an escape room with financial education and gaming, has been featured by local NBC News, giving credit unions a video walk-through of the facility.

As the CU Daily first reported, after opening its prototype “Quest Room” branch in Burlington, Mass., earlier this year, Hanscom FCU has opened a second such “experience center” branch in downtown Boston. It features what is essentially a series of four escape rooms in which participants must answer clues about financial issues—in this case, fraud—before moving on to the next room.
HFCU has confirmed plans to open a third such facility in Worcester, Mass., in 2026.
