JOLIETT, Ill. – The IL CU Women’s Leadership Group, better known as Galena Girls, chose Sarah’s Circle as its charity for the 2026 conference. Sarah’s Circle provides a full continuum of services for women, including housing, life necessities and supportive services to help them permanently end their homelessness.
The Galena Girls, made up of 44 credit union executives and partner vendors, pulled out their personal checkbooks and donated $25,000 to Sarah’s Circle. This donation was presented in person by Kim Nichols, AVP Member Experience with NuMark Credit Union, to a very grateful JoJo Palmer, Development Manager for Sarah’s Circle.
The IL CU Women’s Leadership Group was formed in 2007 to provide an educational and networking opportunity designed exclusively for women executives and decision-makers in the credit union industry. Calling themselves Galena Girls, this conference has partnered with a charity each year to give a greater purpose to its conference.
Over the past 19 years, Galena Girls has donated more than $170,000 to charitable organizations.
