KEY WEST, Fla.. —Keys Federal Credit Union has been selected as the 2025 Department of the Navy Distinguished Small Credit Union of the Year. The prestigious award recognizes the credit union’s unwavering commitment, outstanding services, and comprehensive support to service members and their families, the organization said.
The formal announcement was made in a memorandum from the Commander, Navy Installations Command. The award recognizes Keys Federal Credit Union for their exceptional service, robust financial education programs, strong community partnerships, and crucial quality of life initiatives that support the military community.

‘Indispensable Partner’
“Keys Federal Credit Union is an indispensable partner to Naval Air Station Key West,” Capt. Colin Thompson, commanding officer of NAS Key West. Said in a statement. “Their dedication to the financial well-being of our Sailors and civilian personnel is a critical component of our mission readiness. This award is a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and we are incredibly proud of our partnership.”
The credit union’s efforts provide vital resources to NAS Key West personnel, ensuring they have access to the financial tools and education necessary to thrive, the Naval Air Station added.

The award will be formally presented during the Annual Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC) Conference, scheduled for August 2026, in Aventura, Fla..
