Knoxville TVA ECU in 10-Year, $500K Naming Rights Deal For ETSU’s Recreation Complex

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — East Tennessee State University’s  Campus Recreation Field Complex will be renamed following a new sponsorship agreement with Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union.

Under the 10-year naming rights deal, the credit union will provide $500,000 in support, and the facility will be renamed the Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union Sport Complex, according to East Tennessee State University.

The university said the partnership represents a significant investment in student recreation facilities, which serve thousands of students each year and are central to campus wellness and outdoor activities.

‘Major Investment’

“This partnership is a major investment in student experience and the recreation spaces that support wellness, connection and active campus life at ETSU,” Kari Albarado, director of campus recreation at East Tennessee State University, said in a statement. “We’re grateful to Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union for their support.”

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the partnership is scheduled for April 28 at 11:30 a.m. at the complex on the university’s main campus, East Tennessee State University said.

The university described the agreement as a milestone for its recreation program and said the investment will help strengthen its position in promoting active student life.

“Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union is committed to service in our community,” Lynn Summers, president and CEO of Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, said in a statement. “We’re proud to support the sports complex because it expands the spirit of community to encompass health and fellowship.”
