MONROE, Mich.—Lake Trust Credit Union has donated $25,000 to Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County through its annual Home Loan Giveback Program in collaboration with Lake Trust members.
Through the Program, Lake Trust donated $100 for every qualifying mortgage, refinance or home equity loan closed during a designated timeframe. The initiative is designed to turn member home financing activity into meaningful community impact by supporting housing-focused nonprofit organizations. Since launching the Home Loan Giveback Program in 2019, Lake Trust members have helped generate over $351,000 to support housing programs and initiatives across Michigan.
“Monroe has been an important part of Lake Trust’s story for many years, and following the opening of our Monroe relationship center last year, we’ve deepened our commitment to investing in the community, ” said David Snodgrass, President and CEO of Lake Trust Credit Union. “Empowering homeownership is one of the most meaningful ways we can give back to the community. Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County is doing critical work to help local families achieve stability through homeownership, and we are proud to support that mission with this donation.”

Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County has been serving the region since 1995, building and repairing homes for individuals and families in need of safe, affordable housing. The organization engages community volunteers and partners to expand access to stable housing opportunities throughout Monroe County. Supporting the organization’s new year-round Tribute Giving Program by matching up to $15,000 from donors, Lake Trust’s donation will double the impact of the gift and advancing the organizations’ shared mission to create lasting change in the community.
The donation also reflects Lake Trust’s broader commitment to the Monroe community. Since opening its Monroe Relationship Center in 2025, the credit union has deepened its local presence and its focus on supporting housing access and long-term financial wellbeing in Monroe County.
