HUNTSVILLE, Ala.–As families across North Alabama took advantage of tax-free weekend, Redstone Federal Credit Unionsurprised about 100 local families by purchasing approximately $25,000 worth of back-to-school supplies at three Target and Walmart locations in Huntsville and Decatur, Ala.
According to Redstone, the surprise giveaway is part of its ongoing Acts of Brightness initiative, which has now completed 14 community giveback events across 22 locations from Cullman, Alabama, to Smyrna, Tenn.
To date, approximately $175,000 in support to local communities so far this year, according to the credit union.
