Members Exchange CU Names New CEO to Succeed the Retiring Mitzi Tate

RIDGELAND, Miss.–Members Exchange FCU has named a new president and CEO, effective January 1, 2026, following the retirement of Mitzi Tate, who is departing after “an extraordinary 27-year tenure.”

The $138.2-million MEFCU said it has selected Susan Boshart to lead the organization. Boshart currently serves as EVP at the credit union, where she has served for more than 26 year after beginning her career as an assistant VP.

Susan Boshart

Boshart, who holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi, “has played a pivotal role in shaping the credit union’s strategic direction,” the credit union said. “Her appointment as president/CEO reflects a career defined by dedication, vision, and a deep understanding of every facet of the organization.”

Compassion, Humility & Integrity

“Her career path is the exception rather than the norm. Susan demonstrates a high energy level with strong organizational skills,” said Tate in a statement. “She has become a leader and coach who consistently displays compassion, humility, integrity, and innovation while procuring high performance and growth. I am excited to see the credit union flourish under her leadership.”

44 Years With Credit Union

Tate has served Members Exchange for nearly 44 years, including twenty-seven years as its president and CEO.

“Under her leadership, the credit union has grown from offering only shares and loans with $20 million in assets to over $140 million in assets, now offering a vast array of competitive financial products and services,” the credit union said. “Her vision to establish a credit union footprint in the Jackson area began with establishing branches in Hinds, Madison, and Rankin counties, which has made Members Exchange one of the most competitive credit unions in the state.”

‘Too Numerous to List’

Added Board Chair Kenneth Allison in a statement, “The contributions Tate has made to our credit union over the years are just too numerous to list. Her leadership has driven significant advancements in our credit union, from expanding member services to strengthening financial performance. Her strategic vision has set a clear path for sustainable growth and innovation. For without her guidance and dedication, the credit union certainly would not be where it is today, ranking as one of the largest in Mississippi. She is to be commended for a job well done.”
