More Than 350 in Attendance at VACU’s Financial Success for Women Summit

RICHMOND, Va. – More than 350 women from across Central Virginia participated in Virginia Credit Union’s Financial Success for Women Summit, which offered valuable insights into personal finance and money management, building wealth, and career development.

“Women are actively seeking the knowledge and money management skills that will put them on the path toward financial wellbeing and independence,” said VACU Senior Vice President of Financial Education Cherry Dale in a statement. “Research has long shown women trailing men in terms of financial health, with the pandemic having made worse that divide. At VACU, we recognize how vitally important it is that we provide the resources, knowledge, and insights — through events like the summit — that allow women to make informed financial choices and use financial products and services to their best advantage. As an in-person event, the summit also makes possible personal connection and engagement for a unique and rewarding experience for our participants.”

Best-selling personal finance author and TV personality Tiffany “The Budgetnista” Aliche highlighted the summit and its full day of programming, which also included breakout sessions on AI-based personal finance tools, navigating financial challenges, and building a professional network to facilitate career advancement.

VACU also provided a $5,000 donation to the YWCA Richmond in support of the organization’s work, and attendees had the opportunity to create Survivor Kits to aid the YWCA’s efforts to help women who have escaped dangerous situations, including domestic violence and human trafficking.
